Gianni Tarabini, the Valtellina starred chef of La Preséf

From family cuisine to both Michelin and Green Star

Gianni Tarabini is Chef of La Preséf restaurant. Valtellinese by origin, he cultivated his passion for cooking in the family hotel greatly encouraged by his grandmother. He learned his trade in the kitchens of chef Erminio Curti at Monza and later from friend chef Massimo Bottura of the Osteria Francescana at Modena, and continued his education by running the kitchens of some great Italian restaurants.

When invited to organise the restaurant of the agriturismo La Fiorida, Gianni put to good use the extent of his experience and knowledge, combining them with contributions from Valtellina gastronomic tradition and of course with raw materials from the farm. His commitment was rewarded with a Michelin Star for La Preséf restaurant, achieved for the first time in 2013, to which was added the prestigious Michelin green Star for sustainability.
